Dhaka: RAB has detained on Tuesday four ‘accomplices’ of JMB suicide bomber Abdullah from Dhaka’s Mirpur on charges of planning to ‘sabotage a plane’.
Among the detainees are Sabbir Amam, a Biman Bangladesh co-pilot (first officer), whose father had rented out the militant hideout in Dhaka’s Darussalam to Abdullah. Amam was removed from active duty after authorities discovered the hideout in September. Amam and the three others were detained in a raid in Mirpur on Monday night, said RAB Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan.
In the press briefing at RAB media centre, Mufti Mahmud Khan said that Sabbir took training in flying the aircraft from Bangladesh Flying Academy in 2009.
