4 Detained With Rs 30 Lakh In Fake Indian Currency


Dhaka: Bangladesh have recovered money-forging equipment and Rs 30 lakh in fake Indian currency bills from four people who were arrested Sunday in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area.

A top police official said laptops, printers, cartridges, special types of paper, scales, glasses, cutters and screen-printing materials were recovered from the four men – Humayun Kabir, M Saiful Islam, Swapan Dutta and Mohammad Saidur Rahman.

Humayun Kabir ‘s brother, Kawsar, is also involved in the marketing of fake rupee notes. On December 26, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) raided a fake Indian Rupee making factory in South Keraniganj. The RAB had then detained two people and seized fake currency worth Rs 10 lakh.
