4.0 Magnitude Tremor Rattles India-Myanmar Border Region


Imphal: An earthquake measuring 4.0-magnitude on the Richter Scale struck India-Myanmar border region in Manipur on Thursday.

The earthquake occurred around 9:00 am earlier today. No loss of life or priority has been reported yet.

Earlier,an earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was recorded at 3.36 a.m., the meteorological office told.

The epicentre of the quake was Shimla region, bordering Kinnaur district, which shares a border with China.

Chamba district, adjoining Jammu and Kashmir, was rocked by a low intensity earthquake on June 14. It measured 4.6 on the Richter scale.
