Port Of Spain: A battling performance in the final session helped India recover from a poor start against West Indies and reach 234-5 at close of play on the first day of the third Test on Tuesday.

West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and put the tourists into bat, a choice that was quickly rewarded with two early wickets. Shikhar Dhawan (1) and captain Virat Kohli (3) both fell to leave India on 19-2.
