Jalpaiguri: Launching salvos on the Left Front again West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that 34-years of Left rule is responsible for West Bengal’s misery.
Mamata during a poll campaign rally at Jalpaiguri district’s Rajganj area has lauded the efforts taken by her government for the overall development of the state.
Addressing the burning issue of Tea Garden deaths, CM said, “The previous government had abandoned the tea workers but we have stood by them and doing all that is needed.”
“We have launched ‘Sabuj Sathi’, ‘Kanyashree’ and many other projects for the people.” She added.
Stressing on the need to overcome political bias Mamata said, “We do not distinguish between party affiliations when the issue of development is concerned.”
“We have introduced ‘Kishan Cards’ for the farmers.” She added.
Lashing at erstwhile CPM government Mamata said that the LF has virtually drowned the state in a pool of debt.
“We have to pay one lakh forty thousand crore in the last four years for the debt incurred by the Left Front government.” Mamata said.
The chief minister also appreciated the efforts of her government for cultural development of the state. She said that her government has stood by the side of Bauls and Bhatialis who have long been ignored and are a part of the state’s cultural heritage.
The political parties have pumped fuel in their poll campaign for the 2016 Assembly elections in the state. The Congress and Left Front has joined hands to halt TMC march.
Although several surveys and studies have depicted a TMC win, the Left-Congess alliance and the recent ‘Narada Sting’ has left the party embarrassed.
