32kg Gold Seized, 3 Held From North Bengal


Siliguri: One of the biggest seizure in recent time, as DRI seized 32 Kg of Gold. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Friday arrested three people.

All the accused are residents of Maharashtra. DRI nabbed them with smuggled gold Sikkim weighing 32 kg and worth over Rs ten crore from North Bengal. Each bar of 32 pieces of gold weighs a kilo.

Acting on a tip – off, the DRI sleuths disguised as buyers caught hold of the trio – Akhoy Magar, Dhaniji Saheb Babbar and Pravin – all residents of Maharashtra, during the delivery near a cinema hall on Sevoke Road.
