32 islamist Militants arrested in Tunisia

Tunis: Tunisia security forces arrested 32 militant Islamists, some of whom were returning from Syria. It is suspected that they were planning ‘spectacular’ attacks, said officials on 8 February.

The news of arrests came just one day after a secular-islamist coalition cabinet headed by Prime Minister Habib Essid took office.

“Counter-terrorism forces foiled plots to carry out spectacular attacks against vital installations, including the Interior Ministry, security stations and civilian buildings in the capital Tunis,” said Mohammed Ali Aroui, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

Meanwhile, more than 32 terrorists were arrested during past three days. The group targeted to attack Tunis and other countries. Militants killed troops from Tunisia and Algeria in Mount Chaambi near the Algerian Border.
