Dehradun: A cloudburst in Uttarakhand has killed at least 30 people on Friday, ANI reported, while water levels are continuing to rise in areas including Chamoli and Nandaprayag town. Many are feared injured and trapped in Pithoragarh district’s Bastadi region, as well.
Heavy rain in the state has also blocked the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway (NH-58) and caused a landslide near Devprayag town. Several rivers in the state have also flooded because of the rain. The MeT department has issued a warning in areas in Uttarakhand, especially in the Nainital, Udhamsingh Nagar and Champawat districts over the next three days.
