3 Special Trains On Way To Kerala, One On Tuesday


Howrah: A lot of people from West Bengal are stranded in flood-hit Kerala. Either they stay there for work, or had gone there for a vacation. Down Chennai-Satragachi AC Express reached Satragachi station on Monday morning.

But stranded victims were not noticed much in this train. But in the afternoon, Howrah Corommondal express returned with lot of victims. On returning, they shared their ordeal.

All of them spoke about the same thing. They explained the horrible situation there. There is no water to drink or anything to eat. No connectivity even. Somehow they came ti Chennai and reurned back to Howrah by Corommondal. One passenger said
that all houses are under water. The roads are below the water too. No electricity or telephone connectivity.

Keeping in mind the flood situation, the South-Eastern railway is planning to send three special trains. One train will go to Thirvananthapuram from Shalimar on Tuesday night. It will reach on Thursday. Another train will move from Satragachi to Ernakulam on Wednesday evening and reach at 4pm on Friday. Another train will leave Satragachi and reach Ernakulam on Friday 8:30pm.

All the special trains will have one AC two-tier, AC three-tier, 11 sleeper class and 2 general second class coaches, as informed by south-eastern railways.
