New Delhi: Three suspected members of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operatives, arrested by Special Cell Delhi Police in May this year, had planned to use pipe bombs to spread terror in Delhi-NCR.
As per the Special Cell chargesheet filed in Delhi court last week, the three accused persons from JeM had bought iron pipes from old Delhi’s Daryaganj area to implement their plan.
Pipe bombs are made with explosives and sealed from both the ends to make high impact when exploded.
All the three operatives were in touch with JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar through Whatsapp and used to take instructions from him. As per the police, one of the accused Sajid was planning to go to Kashmir after his work was done in Delhi.
Three suspected members Sajid, Sameer and Aziz Ansari of terror outfit JeM were arrested in May for allegedly planning an attack in the national capital. While Sajid and Sameer hail from Delhi, Ansari is a resident of Deoband in Uttar Pradesh. All three had an ideological leaning towards the JeM.
