27 killed in Iraq suicide attacks

Baghdad: 27 people were killed as car bombs exploded in a crowded market and Shiite militia checkpoints north of Baghdad.

The first incident occurred near the market in the town of Balad Ruz, killing 11 people and injuring 50, while the other blast targeted a checkpoint manned by Shiite militiamen near the city of Sammara, killing eight and injuring 15.

Second suicide bomber targeted another checkpoint killing eight and injuring 16, taking the whole toll to 27.

No one has claimed the responsibility of the attacks though it is being suspected that IS involvement behind the attacks.
