2 LeT Terrorists Gunned Down By Security Forces In Sopore Encounter


Update: Two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants have been killed, confirmed a senior police officer.

“During the gunfight Two LeT militants have been killed and their identity are being ascertained”, the officer said.

Inwake of the gunfight, authorities have decided to shut all educational institutes in twin towns of Sopore and Baramulla. Meanwhile the phone services have also been snapped, except BSNL.

Srinagar: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district have started cordon and search operations on Monday after two terrorists were believed to be hiding in the area.
The terrorists were spotted in Sopore’s Shangergund area.

A gunfight between the security forces and militants has also started during a cordon and search operation in Sopore area of north Kashmir.

The security forces receiving information about the presence of two militants in Shankar Gund area on the outskirts of Sopore town were preparing to cordon off and search the place when the incident occurred.

As the cordon was tightened, the militants started firing triggering the encounter. The firing is still on.
