2 More Die of Dengue In WB, Toll Rises To 22


Kolkata: Two more deaths due to dengue were reported in West Bengal, taking the toll to 22. Around 300 new cases of dengue infection were reported in the state taking the total number of persons infected by the virus in the state to 4,523 since January, West Bengal Director of Health Services Biswaranjan Satpathy told PTI.

Among the two persons died of dengue since yesterday, one is a 20-year-old youth from Udaynarayanpur in Howrah district while the other one is a 75-year-old man from Siriri in South 24 Parganas district, he said.

Most cases in the state so far have been reported from Hooghly district’s Serampore and North and South 24-Parganas, and Nadia district.
