2 Cops Injured In Clash Between GJM & Police

Darjeeling: Two policemen injured in clash between GJMM supporters and Police in Kurseong’s Sukna. One person arrested.

After a few days of lull, the Hills were again on the boil on Saturday. The indefinite bandh call clamped by the GJM in the Hills of North Bengal. In the morning the routine GJM rally had taken to the streets at Sukna.

Stones and bricks rained on the police from the road above. Police in turn baton charged and burst tear gas shells. According to an eyewitness the standoff continued for an hour. According to police, gun fired by morcha supporters. In this clash two policemen injured and sent to the hospital.
