2 Bengal Districts To Be Crowned As ‘Clean District’


Bardhaman: Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will crown state’s two districts as the ‘Clean District’ on Tuesday. 6th edition of ‘Mati Utsav’ (Festival of Soil) will start from today in ‘Matitirtha Krishikotha’ Compound near East-Bardhaman. After the inauguration of the festival CM will announce Bardhaman as the ‘Clean District’.

Today Mamata Banerjee will fly to Bardhaman in a chopper for the inauguration of the ‘Mati Utsav’. Entire Bardhaman has been wrapped into tight security for the CM’s visit.

From Ullash and Nabaab-haat area upto the main stage is under tight security . 100 CCTV cameras have been installed for the security purpose. 100 civic police has been deployed around the place. State Police Personnel made a visit to the main area of the programme on Monday. Bardhaman SP Kunal Agarwal made aware to the other policemen about the security measures.

Dristrict Administration informed that, Mamata Banerjee will make lay foundation of 72 new project and inaugurate 15 projects. Among them, inauguration of two police station at Dewandighi and Shaktigarh and district’s first English medium Madrasa School at Bam Chadaipur, Drinking water project in Shushunia,22,23 &23 ward road construction under Bardhaman Municipality, 350 meter concretion of the river bank, Eco Park at Galsi, water -drainage system in Jamalpur and others. Mamata Banerjee will felicitate 100 farmers for their contribution in agriculture and will help the consumers of the Government schemes like Kanyashree and Sabujshree.

Apart from these, new stairs and lift of Collectorate Bhavan will start on Tuesday. With drinking water project, hostel building and other developmental lay foundation will take place in this tour. This journey will be accompanied with Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Ministers and bureaucrats. Finishing all these Mamata Banerjee will move towards Kenduli Mela, Joydeb in Birbhum district.
