2 Arrested For Forging Mamata’s Signature

Kolkata: A Baguiati resident and his partner were arrested by Bidhannagar police on Saturday from Salt Lake area for allegedly forging the signature of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

According to police sources, Rajiv Ghosh a Baguiati based promoter and his partner Jonaki Basu had applied for sanctioning of a plan for constructing an apartment to Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation. For this, they had allegedly used duplicate letter-head of the Land Reforms Department.

They had also forged signature of chief secretary Basudeb Banerjee in the letter-head. Once this came to the notice of the officials of Corporation they verified the signature and found them fake.

They will be produced before local court tomorrow.
