1991 Mumbai Blast Convict Arrested From Phagwara


Mumbai: The Phagwara police on Tuesday arrested a Babbar Khalsa terrorist convicted in 1991 Mumbai bomb blast. The convicted has been identified as Ravinder Singh alias Bittu who had jumped parole in 2007.

Ravinder was living in Saidpur Patti village in Tarn Taran district of Punjab and was using a pseudo name Gurdaspur Singh. Ravinder is accused of 1991 bomb blast at Kalyan railway station in Mumbai. He was released on parole in 2007 but did not return to jail after the parole expired.

The police is investigating whether he was also a part of any terror module or just worked as a drug smuggler. Bittu worked with khalistan terrorists like Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar and Nishan Singh before he was arrested. Bhullar, a 1993 Delhi blast accused, is currently on a parole.
