16 Bangladeshi Infiltrators Arrested From Howrah


Howrah: Howrah Police arrested 16 Bangladeshi infiltrators On Wednesday noon from the 18th number platform of Howrah station. They were caught from the Golabari police station area. Six women among them were arrested.

All of them are residents of different districts of Bangladesh, police said. According to prime investigation, they used to go to Bangalore via train from Howrah station. Police have arrested them as they have no valid passport and no papers.

Howrah City Police Chief Ranendra Nath Bandyopadhyay said that a person named Laltu Mallik alias Mithun brought them from Bangladesh to India. Why they was being taken to Bangalore! The suspects are being interrogated. They will be produced in Howrah court on Thursday.

According to the police sources, the group crossing the international border illegally in Benapole and entered India. From there, the team arrived at Howrah Station at noon. Acting to a tipoff, police officials escorted the team after crossing the border.

Laltu Mallik alias Mithun, a resident of Uluberia of Howrah, was caught with them. Originally they came to work in India. It has been known that several thousand rupees were given to him to cross the border.
