Dhaka: 159 Bangladeshi nationals were returned to the country after being rescued in the Myanmar waters while being trafficked to Malaysia. They have been brought back to Bangladesh on Monday.
To ensure their return, the authorities of both the countries held a flag meeting Gundum. After the meeting, the Bangladeshi Nationals were handed over to their country officials. The rescued Bangladeshi nationals are from 10 districts of Bangladesh.
They were taken in six bus buses to CoksBazar Cultural Centre. According to Superintendent of Police Shyamal Kumar Nag, investigation has been initiated to nab the main culprits behind the incident who were trying to sent the people to foreign lands.
