15 Suspected Bangladeshi Infiltrators Held in West Bengal

Kolkata: West Bengal police on Friday detained 15 suspected Bangladeshi migrant and three Indian nationals from India-Bangladesh border in Hili under Balurghat in South Dinajpur district, said officials.

As per reports, the Bangladeshis were allegedly smuggled into India by a gang of Indian smugglers and were sent to Noida to work as labourers. The suspects have returned from Noida and were preparing to cross into Bangladesh. Police following a tip off conducted a raid and arrested them.

The three arrested Indian nationals are believed to be part of an international gang who smuggle Bangladesh national into India and vice-versa. An investigation has been launched and further arrests are likely to be made.
