Update: Death toll rises to 15 in blast near Pakistan’s Quetta.
Quetta: At least 12 people have been killed and dozens wounded – some of them critically – in an explosion in a high-security neighborhood of Quetta on Saturday night.
The blast went off at the busy Pishin Stop triggering a fire on several vehicles parked nearby. Police and rescuers say at least a dozen people have been killed and 26 wounded who are being shifted to hospitals.
A state of emergency has been declared at the city’s hospitals where medics say some of the injured have life-threatening wounds. Bodies of the victims are charred beyond recognition.
