EC objects Use Of Indelible Ink In Banks


New Delhi: The Election Commission on Friday wrote to Finance Ministry directing not to use indelible ink in banks. EC raised the concern as several states will be going to polls and this is one of major points to mark citizens who have already voted.

The district election authorities on Wednesday had asked the banks and post offices to apply indelible ink mark on the right hand index finger of those seeking to exchange the banned Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, so that there is no repetition by the same customer
