101 bonded labourers freed in Bihar


Patna: 101 bonded labourers from 38 families were recovered from Madhubani in Bihar on the instincts of the Human Rights Commission. They are being rehabilitated under various social development programmes. Their ancestral prperty has also been recovered from the owners. All the children of the families will be sent to school.

26 girls would be brought under Chief Minister’s Security Project. They will be provided the facilities of Indira Housing scheme, Indira Gandhi National old age pension Scheme. The girls of marriageable age of the six families will be brought under Marriage scheme.

In a statement it has been said, “most of the workers are from tribal class. They were forced to work for 10 hours. They have been forced to work only for food through generations for some small amount of loans taken by them once upon a time.
