South 24 Parganas: Days after a three-year-old child was hurt in poll-related violence in North 24 Parganas district, a 10-year-old boy was assaulted allegedly by Trinamool Congress workers in South 24 Parganas in West Bengal on Tuesday  the day Mamata Banerjee campaigned there.

The attack took place after a young boy was found tearing up campaign posters to make kite. The attackers allegedly tied him up with a nylon rope and thrashed him. He was then abandoned in a field, the child’s father, who was at work at that time in adjoining Kolkata, alleged.

No case has been registered so far.
