10 Mao Cadres arrested in Raipur


Raipur: Ten Maoists, including a woman cadre,surrendered in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Kondagaon district here today, on the eve of the Martyrs’ Week to be observed by the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), a police official said on Monday.Kondagaon Superintendent of Police J S Watti told PTI that Maoist people’s militia (Jan Militia) cadres turned themselves in to the police citing “disappointment with exploitation of lower rung members by senior Maoist leaders” from Andhra Pradesh.

Those surrendered were identified as Balram (42), Mangturam Netam (38), Raijuram Salam (29), Sohan Nureti (32), Sukhram Nureti (30), Sukdev Usendi (32), Sobhi Rama Uike (26), Mangluram Uike (22), Rajman alias Jagder (27) and a woman named Rammo Kawde (30), the police official said. They were active in Mardapal and Badedonger areas, located around 250 km away from the state capital of Raipur.
