Midnapore: In an explosions at the Trinamool Congress party office in Makrampur area of Narayangarh in West Midnapore was reported on Thursday morning. When members of the TMC reached the party office to attend a meeting, they opened the door and the bomb went off. At least five people were seriously injured in the incident and one person was left dead.
Reportedly, all the victims are TMC party workers.All injured were rushed to the Midnapore Medical College and Hospital.The explosion took place at around 8:30am. The sources said it was also not known whether a crude bomb had exploded or a gas cylinder inside the party office led to the incident. The deceased has been identified as a TMC member, Sudipta Ghosh. Of the total five injured, one person is extremely critical.
Meanwhile, a huge contingent of the police force has rushed to the spot. Police have registered a case and have begun an investigation into the blast.
The local TMC leaders claimed that the opposition tried to blow off the TMC party office.Allegation and counter allegation triggers tension in the area.
According to sources, the party supporters were present at the office for a meeting. During the incident, several TMC activists were also inside the office. Members who were present in the office during the incident were seriously wounded.
